In commemoration of International Model A Ford Day, the Lone Star Model A Ford Club in Georgetown, Texas
took a little tour through our wonderful town after our regular weekly breakfast this morning. We drove through
"old town" and showed off our cars which felt right at home among the 1920's-1930's vintage homes. Surprisingly,
as we stopped to line up the cars and let everyone catch up with the convoy of about 12 Model A's, a lady came out
of her house and said, "I have a Model A in my garage and I'd like to join your club." A second later, her neighbor
two doors down, walked up and said "I have a 1930 Model A Coupe in my garage that I've owned for 40 years,
you guys want to look at it?" They're still out there waiting to be discovered. We lined up our cars in front
of the John Leavell house which was built in 1880 and listed on the National Register of Historic
Homes, however unfortunately it was too early in the morning and the sun wasn't cooperating to catch a good photo.
One of the photos looks vintage since one of our club members, Laurie Taylor, was wearing era clothing and walking
behind the cars. Fun day and we enjoyed showing off our cars to the community. . . might get a couple of new members
out of the tour.
