Yankee ingenuity kicked in this morning at our weekly breakfast at IHOP. Last week, at our restoration clinic we pulled my starter to see why the bendix was making some noise. In the process, I pulled the dipstick and set it in the drip rail. Guess what I forgot to put back in after the starter repair? Yes, the dipstick. So this morning, at the IHOP, there is oil dripping under my car. All the minds get together and we come up with this. A twig front out in the parking lot, a straw, and a piece of tin foil from the restaurant kitchen, and "wa-la" we have a stopper for the hole where the dipstick was. I wrapped a little foil around the twig, pushed the end of the straw over it, bent it over, and stuck it into the hole. We made a 65 mile round trip run out in the country and no leaks! Anyone have a spare?
