There were plenty of places left for newcomers.


CR-223 is a great tree-lined country road that runs along the Lampasas River.
Taking a short cut through the woods shortens the trip by amost 10 miles.

These nuisance Giant Mustard, Bastard Cabbage,
or Wild Turnip-weed are alter egos of the mustard family and the "yellow peril" of Texas.


Someone honked, and they all came running.


These were the only purple flowers we passed, but there were many bluebonnets.


After we left the Georgetown area, we passed only one working gas station.


There were many windmills, but this was the only one that looked connected.
